Looking for descendents of Sampson Stuart McNeill (b.Feb 1,1776) or his brother, John McNeill, both born in Belfast, emigrated to USA 1792 and settled in VA.
Sampson married Lavina Swain, (b. March 1792) on Mar 28, 1806. 12 children, born in VA an OH. I am direct descendent of their son Thomas P.McNeill(b. 28 Dec 1826)and Amelia Utter (born Cockrell, mother was Margaret Doty) through their only surviving child, William Montgomery McNeill, who taught school and practiced medicine in Graves Cty and Campbell Cty. KY.
Family history says they are Scots, not Irish???
