Col. John McNeill's Volunteers ca. 1764

I'm working on a report regarding the rescue of Indian Captives by Col. Bouquet between 1764-65. In a letter to General Gage from Bouquet dated Nov. 1764, is a list of the returned captives taken from Augusta Co. VA who "are going home under the Care of Col. McNeill, Volunteers." Enclosed in the letter is a receipt signed by John McNeill for 46 captives. (It's possible this same John McNeill died a few years later in Augusta Co.)

What I'm hoping to learn are the name of the men in McNeill's Volunteers. Any clues most appreciated.

Joanne
