Names and some details, but not a lot.
Hi,
I'm very new at genealogy.I've tried looking into my past before, but I never really got that far.Maybe you guys can help me though; it seems like there's alot of knowledge in here.
Here's what I do know.My parents are Jim (James) and Kerry McNeil.My father's parents are Bruce and Dorthalee McNeil.My grandmother was originally Dorthalee Pankratz (might have spelt that wrong).They have three children, including my father: Daniel, James and Victoria (in age order).My grandfather had a sister called Barbara McNeil, she married Clyde Edwards and became Barbara Edwards.They had a son.Clyde had connections to Louisiana (I think he was born/raised there), but they lived in Sedona, Arizona.My grandparents haven't been able to tell me much about the family, and I can't remember my great-grandparent's names.Barbara passed away this summer and at her funeral, I was able to jot a few names and dates down.Has anybody heard of these people before?
* Edward Esca McNeil: 13 July, 1902 - 20 March, 1988 (buried in Sedona)
* Marion Stewart McNeil: 19 May, 1898 - 5 July, 1991 (buried in Sedona)
* EA McNeil - 1899/1900 (I don't know what these years are)
* George McNeil - 1899 in Albuquerque (I don't know what the year means, but I think they lived in Albuquerque for a bit; it may be that he died in 1899 and was buried in Albuquerque).At some point, the McNeils were in Caldwell, Idaho (Sunny Slopes, to be specific).
EA and George were brothers, George married Linda Kelly, and Linda had a sister called Annis Kelly.
I've written down something about Portland, Oregon with the date 20 January, 1919, but I don't know what it means.Possibly some family lived there at some point?
There's also a mention of a Tom and Yvette (I'm assuming McNeil, but it may be another side of the family) and some army numbers, I think?I think it's WWII.
I don't know a name, but I do know somebody in our family was in the Civil War.I think it might have been George McNeil.My grandfather tells me that this ancestor's sword is still in the family somewhere, but I'm not sure who has it and I've not seen it.
I know this is ridiculously sparse detail, but if anybody has any leads on any of these people, I'd love to hear more.My Nanna (on my mother's side) has been tracing our family line on her side, and I know she's anxious to find out a bit more about my father's side of the family.
