emmy, my information was from dean guthery and from my own checking. i do not know the father of the james mcneill who was the father of your james. however, james who married martha jerusha broadway had a brother neill, who married eliza moss. they lived in benton tn in 1840. matthew click and his wife, nancy moss, were in benton tn in 1850. margaret mcneill married franklin wheatley in 1853 in benton tn. this might give you a cue of some sort. elvalee swift
