Catherine and Joseph were from the Salmon river rd and Lewis cove road area. Near Barra Head. John Mcneil was granted 100 acres on Lewis cove rd in 1861 not a quarter of a mile from Hugh Gillis farm. 6 to 7 miles from St Peters.
According to Joseph and Catherine's marraige certificate; Joseph's mother was born in Scotland and his father, John was born in Nova Scotia.
