My name is Les Squires, I live in Puyallup, Washington. My Grandmother, Sarah Laura Baker, was the daughter of Minnie McNees, and was born in Kansas in 1888. We recently lost the last surviving daughter, my Aunt Pauline (Baker) Hopkins. She left a genealogy book was prepared by W.H.McNees. According to the book, Sarah's grandfathers were James Alexander McNees (1840-1906), James McNees Jr (1812-1852), James McNees Sr (1775-1844), and William McNees (1742-1805), who is buried in the Plaingrove Cemetery in Butler County, PA. I believe this is the same William that was marride to Jane McCormick.
I have a wealth of family information, as my mother and grandmother collected and kept clippings of births, deaths, etc. and pictures. The one I have of Minnie McNees is uncannily like both my mother and cousin as well.
