"Fanny" Frances McNeely is found with her husband Allen Adkins in the Logan Co. censuses of 1850 & 1860.She's still alive when the census taker came in 1860.There is a reference to this family in the ADKINS book by Ronnie Adkins of Alabama, found on pages 74 & 75.It may be here that I read the statement that this couple died in 1870.I took a quick look into the 1870 Logan census. They are not located in Logan at that time.Logan lost land during the creation of LincolnCo.and I haven't as yet looked for the surviving children in Lincoln Co. 1870.Some of the kids may be in Logan and missed by my quick scan.
The 1850 Logan census gives her birth abt. 1828 and the 1860 Logan census has her birth at 1827.
It appears that her first child, Aaron b. Aug. 15, 1845;suggests that Frances "Fanny" married at about the age 16 or 17 in about the year 1844.Her children in 1850 are: Aaron; Sarah Ann b.abt 1847; & William Talbert "Bill" b.abt. 1849.These 3 are also in the 1860 census with the following siblings born after 1850:Nancy Jane b.abt. 1852;Hezekiah, b.abt. 1856;Louisa, b.abt. 1858;Mary Margaret, b.abt. 1859.In the book by Ronnie Adkins, he states that Allen Adkins is a son of Elias & Susannah (Fry) Adkins.Even before the Adkins book came out, I knew that Fanny was a McNeely but have been unable to even draw a suitable speculation as to her parents. This is where Bible records can be so important. If nothing can be found in local court houses proving her parents, then Bible records, although a remote hope, may be the last hope.On occasion, I've found parents by reading old deeds. Some of these older deeds gave some specific genealogical information, often not found in the modern counterpart.Certainly, if a will was left for either Allen or Fanny the answer could be there as well.Vital Statistics records were not kept in Logan Co. from 1861 until about
