Dear Richard:

Not sure there is any connection. Have found out that Catherine, mother of Duncan & Margaret McNab was a widow when she married my GG Uncle Owen Coombs. He died in 1888 leaving her a widow again. They had one child and hv been unable to find her nor Duncan & Margaret who were children of her first marriage. She may have married again. Catherine decended from Scots who were amongst the first settlers to the Red River Settlement in Manitoba, Canada. Both Duncan and Margaret were listed as U.S. citizens so presume Catherine and her McNab husband lived stateside. Not sure how she met my Uncle?? Lots of local history as Owen fought in the Riel Rebellion, etc. If you shud come across further info, please advise. Lauraine
