I am descended from Alexander and Emily (McMurray) Sweet who were both born in NY in the early 1800s, married in NY and started their family there (6 children)in the 1830s/1840s, moved to Pavilion, MI in the mid-1840s and had 3 more children. I am descended from child #6, Cordelia - born 08 Aug 1844 Stephantown, NY - married 02 Apr 1865 Pavilion, MI to Sylvester Munger and had 5 children - died 21 Jul 1908 Scotts, MI - buried Boughton Cemetery, Pavilion, MI.
Today I found the probate record for Michael McMurray. Michael McMurray's Pavilion, MI will of 19 Mar 1847 lists his daughter Emily Sweet and additional children Peter, Electa, Henrietta, Amanda, and Adeline. Alexander Sweet is appointed administrator of the estate at probate court 06 Sep 1847.
This is the first I've found of Emily married to Alexander Sweet's maiden name and I would very much like to find out more about her father, Michael McMurray and her/my McMurray ancestors.
I can't wait to hear from some of you!
