My great-great grandfather is William G. McMurray (b. 1844)in Rutherford County, North Carolina. He married Emily M. Alley (b. 1851) and had 12 children all born in Polk County, North Carolina. He was a Cival War Veteran serving for the 2nd regiment of North Carolina Infantry volunteers (I have his original discharge notice). I believe his father is a Samuel McMurray (b. about 1803) and his mother Elizabeth, but cannot confirm. I am stuck at William G. and am seeking help in finding his father.
