Great to hear from you so quickly, Mary Ann.We have been having a McMurrough cousins reunion annually at my sister's house in Brazoria in April or May.Last year they settled on a day (First Sat in May).I'll let you know by email the address, etc. These McMurroughs are grand kids of Frank Greenwood McMurrough. There are still three children of Frank Greenwood (Bertie, Patsy, and Margaret) and they try to attend also.We usually try to look at old pictures, share memories, eat, and have fun.
I'll also send you Paula's address. She still is in the College Station area and is on Facebook.
I have looked at Galveston records of immigrant ships that covered the period 1870-1875.There was a book in a local library in Lake Jackson - so Galveston records survived somehow. If the McMurroughs traveled by sea from the east coast to Galveston, it may not have been recorded in the immigrant lists in this book since they had already immigrated (perhaps). The records for Indianola probably were destroyed by hurricanes. And there is a possibility this is where they entered Texas and we'll never find it.
