Hello Michael, branch of my side of the McMurrough's emmigrated on mass to the states at the turn of the century, have found reference to several on the net. Perhaps we are all related, it is such an unusual name. Researching Irish history is hard after the fire of 1925 in the Irish records office.By the way, Kavanaugh means follower of Kavan (one of Irelands first saints)The traditional head of the McMurrough Clan is called the McMurrough Kavanaugh! They reside in Borris castle, Co.Wexford.
