A McMillian Surname Project has been started at www.familytreedna.com. Participation is open to all males with the McMillian surname, including all spelling variants of the surname MacMillan.
The original participants in the study are thought to be descendents of Alexander McMillion residing in Granville County, NC in the early 1700s. They are seeking to correctly identify his descendents, and then identify his lineage. His descendents moved to SC, and then to TN, GA and AL, and now reside all over the United States.
All MacMillans are welcome to participate, including other groups attempting to answer similar questions in other parts of the country/world.
