Scott,

I'm not an expert on the McMillin familiy, but I suspect the five brothers in your cabinet photograph were sons of Robert Love “Little Bobby” McMillin (1823-1909) and Mary Ann “Polly” (White) McMillin (1823-1896) of Spartanburg County, South Carolina:

1) James Henry McMillin (1846-1902). Buried, New Prospect Baptist Cemetery, Spartanburg County, South Carolina;

2) Robert Vaden McMillin (1848-1909). Buried, New Prospect Baptist Cemetery, Spartanburg County, South Carolina;

3) William Kennedy McMillin (1851-1934). Buried, Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Choctaw County, Oklahoma;

4) John Marcus McMillin (1853-1901). Buried, Presbyterian Cemetery, Chicota, Lamar County, Texas. Lamar County is directly across the Red River from Choctaw County, Oklahoma;

5) Elisha Bomar “Bud” McMillin (1855-1933). Buried, New Prospect Baptist Cemetery, Spartanburg County, South Carolina;

My mother’s great-grandfather was William Pinkney McMillin (1822-1862), a brother of Robert Love “Little Bobby” McMillin. See my 14 March 2005 post, “My McMillin-McAllister Mystery in Spartanburg District, SC,” to this GenForum.

Robert Love “Little Bobby” McMillin and William Pinkney McMillin were sons of Robert Love “Big Bobby” McMillin (1795-1873) and Susan (Bomar) McMillin (1806-1861).

Robert and Susan (Bomar) McMillin were also buried at the New Prospect Baptist Cemetery, as were Robert and Polly (White) McMillin.

Vaden is a name with multiple repeats in the McMillin family.

Regards from Virginia,

Clete
