I've been studying this McMillan family.
I have reason to believe I might connect to a McMillan/McMullen family who lived at the Lennox & Addington County area, and would like to pursue the possibility.
It appears James and Jane were of a Protestant denomination? It appears most other McMullen's in the area were Catholic. I believe my own McMillan's were likely Protestant, but hard to know if they always were.
My ancestor was John McMullan/McMullen (a shoemaker) who married Margaret Orr at Downpatrick in 1844, at the Downpatrick Cathedral which is Church of Ireland. Margaret was born at County Antrim, and I don't know where John was born. They were in Quebec by 1847, and I believe in the Kingston area by 1853 or so where a son was born, but I have little to go on for that area.
I have had a male DNA test at FTDNA for ancestry. I was curious if a male descendent of your James McMillan family might have had a DNA test?
Would like to discuss further if possible.
Thanks so much!!Tom McMillan (Washougal, WA, USA)
