MCMILLAN'S IN CAMPBELL COUNTY, GA. & S.C.
I am looking for information on my gg-grandfather William McMillan b. Sept. 30, 1836, d. Oct. 31, 1920 in Palmetto, Ga. (formerly Campbell County now Fulton County, Ga.) His siblings were John B. McMillan b. April 25, 1838 d. July 25, 1862 in the Civil War, Margaret McMillan b. 1841 & James J. McMillan b. 1843. According to the 1850 census they were living in the household of my 3-great-grandfather Daniel Richard & Mary Ann "Polly" Willoughby. The census states "Henry" Willoughby, (don't know where the Henry came from unless it was a nickname). William & John B. McMillan are listed as being born in South Carolina and the two younger children born in Georgia. According to William's death certificate his father was listed as James McMillan. William list his father's birthplace as Ireland. William McMillan married Julia Ann Bullard on March 3, 1856. Their children were:
William R. McMillan b. 1858
Mary Kate MCMillan b. 1861
Charles A. McMillan b. 1866
James Marion McMillan b. 1871
Jeanie or Genia McMillan b. 1873
Octavia "Tavie" b. 1879
Any info would be greatly appreciated. I have hit a brick wall after William McMillan. He was listed on census records as living in the Rico/Palmetto, Ga. area throughout his years until his death in 1920.
