Hi Cinda,
Sorry to be slow responding to your inquiry.I'm not sure how much information you have.Archibald was b. July 18, 1791, d. Jan. 19, 1878.His son, Archibald, was b. Aug. 1, 1830, d. May 4, 1917.He was a minister of the German Baptist Church (now called Church of the Brethren). They moved from Pennsylvania to Nebraska. He and his wife, Esther Swigart, had 15 children. My grandfather, Lambert B. Van Dyke, was the youngest of the 15.Early mentions of this family are on the Latter Day Saints site, familysearch.org.The earliest in the US was Thomas Janse Van Dyke, then his son Jan Thomasse Van Dyke.A very interesting book by Elizabeth Preston Baty, called VAN DYKE is available on interlibrary loan.It follows our line through the first three generations in this country, then branches to follow the writer's line.It is worthwhile reading.
