I hope to get a response from a post of 3 years ago. Has anyone found the ship the McMasters came over 1720?
I have a dilemma to solve regarding this line and the genealogy found in the History of the Town of Palmer Massachusetts by Temple. My direct ancestor is Robert McMaster, son of John Snr, who married Elisabeth Young 1765. We are attempting to submit the line to the DAR, however the DAR accepted only the Robert McMaster, son of Hugh. The refusal was based on the fact that McMaster was MA born and could therefore not be assigned a regiment in NY.
Further, the line of Robert who married Young is a proven line to present day. The Hugh who had a son named Robert was documented as the BROTHER of my Robert. Each Robert married a different woman but only one year apart.
The dilemma here is how could my Robert, son of John, be the same age as his brother Hugh's son, Robert, to be married within a year of each other. That is, uncle and nephew are born and married around the same time?
see pages 512 and 513, 1:5 and 3:64 for the details.
