Greetings,
My great grandfather was Barney Diamond, he married Salley Ray 1/8/1867 in Barnwell, SC. He had a sister; I think she was a sister, named Almira or Alimira, she was born in 1843.
She married an Albery Marden Black, had 1 child and after Albery passed away married a Zissette.
Their parents were supposed to have come from Elmira, NY and came to SC, so the family story goes.
Barneys parents may have been Charlie and Penelope.
Also the story says that they might have changed their name from Mc Master(s).
and the story also tells that a stolen horse may have prompted their leaving Elmira, NY.
Any help with these folks will be GREATLY appreciated.
