In reseaching my Foertmeyer/Kirchof/Rentz relations in Cincinnati, I came across a McMakin connection. In the Rentz/Kirchof family plot are some McMakins. Ferdinand and Maud, two youngsters who were the children of John and Margaret Rentz McMakin. Margaret's brother, Ferdinand Rentz II married a Rebecca McMakin who was the dau. of William and J. McMaking. Time frame..Ferd II b. 1840, Rebecca b. 1844. John b. about 1841 so is possibly the brother of Rebecca..so maybe this is a case of brother/sister in the Rentz fmaily marrying a brother/sister in the McMaking family. These folks lived in Millcreek or Springfield Twp. area near the cemetery in which they are buried (Spring Grove). There is also a McMakin St. across from the cemetery off of Winton Rd.
John died of TB. Do you think we have a connection here?
