HARRY C. MCMAHON

Death claimed Harry C. McMahon at his home in Chatsworth Monday (Feb. 9) morning about 12:15 following an extended illness with Bright's disease.
While it was known for some time that his death was only a question of time, he rallied lately and seemed to be considerably improve, and his passing brought sadness to all his acquaintances.
The date of the funeral service was delayed awaiting the arrival of his brothers, James and Joe from the west but have been set for Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Methodist church, conducted by a former Methodist pastor, Rev. V. A. Crumbacker and Rev. Kinrade. The Masonic and Knights of Pythias funeral services will be held for him at the grave.
Deceased was born near Melvin, December 13, 1870and spent practically his entire life in this vicinity where he was universally liked and respected. About five years ago his health began to fail but it was only last year that it became evident that he could live only a short time. He consulted several specialists and last spring was told that he had not more than a year to live owing to the nature of his ailment. While he realized that he must soon pass on he was cheerful and hopeful to the end.
He served in a number of public capacities. At the time of his death he was a member of the village board and was always a good worker for the interests of the village and people. He had been a member of the Masonic and Knights of Pythias lodges and had held various offices in each. When assigned any duty he never shirked and as a result he had many friends.
Besides his mother with whom he lived he leaves three sisters and four brothers, namely; James, of Los Angeles; Frank, of Gibson City; John, of Pontiac; Joseph, of Jacksonville, Oregon; Mrs. B.V. Newman, Mrs. Eva Roberts and Mrs. Ross Baltz, of this vicinity.
