Did you also post this request to the Maclin forum?
Many of the McLin/Maclins in central TN were from the William Maclin line, originally out of Surry and Brunswick Counties in VA. Judge William Maclin (grandson of colonial William of Surry & Brunswick counties), fathered the following children who settled in what is now Tennessee around the time of the Rev. War: Mary (married William Cocke, who later became a U. S. Senator from TN) who settled in Hawkins Co.; John (married Sara Taylor of Jonesboro) in Nashville; William (TN’s first Sec. of State) who settled first in Watauga region then in Davidson County; Sarah (married Col. Elijah Robertson) first in Watauga region then in Nashville; Dolly (married Capt. Johnathan[sic] Robertson) first in Watauga region then in Nashville; Rebecca (married James Bosley) in Nashville; Elizabeth (married Gen. Landon Carter) in Carter Co.; Sackfield in Nashville; James in Nashville. Judge William and his wife Sarah also moved to Davidson County, TN, after the Revolutionary War.
Among these siblings, at least some of them spelled their surname "McLin." I have some of their info but not the folks you are looking for.
