Your John Creech McLennan was born 2 Jan 1851 in Lumber City, Telfair Co. GA, lived later at Careyville, FL, died 22 Jul 1890 and is buried at Vernon, TX. He married 1st Fannie Jennings, and 2nd. Lizzie Hood. I have no further details of his descendants but would like to add that to my information. He was the 5th of 12 Children of Alexander Chisolm McLennan and Eliza Elmina Creech.
Alexr. Chisolm McLennan was born 30 Jan 1806 in Richmond Co. NC. His Father was Daniel McLennan, born (some say) 1880 (but where?). His mother was Margaret McCrimmon who was born on a sailing ship about 1774 (some say 1784 but this cannot be correct). His maternal grandfather was a McCrimmon born in Glenelg Parish,Scotland of whom nothing (or little)further is known. His maternal grandmother was Ann McRae (or Macrae) of Glensheil, Scotland of whom about 13 or 14 previous generations is known.
Alexr Chilsolm McLennan's wife, Eliza Elmina Creech, was born 30 Sep 1820 at Laurens Co. GA and died 26 May 1892, buried at Dothan AL, as is Alexr. McLennan. (They were married 23 Apr 1843). Her Father was Charles Creech and her mother was Elizabeth Hutchens. Eliza Elmina Creech was the 3rd of 9 children.
You need to be careful with your identities. Alexr. Chisolm McLennan had a brother Kenneth who also, at one time, lived near Alexr. in Telfair Co. GA. Incidently they had one sister, Judith Douglas McLennan, who married a David Bryan Creech, son of Joshua Creech. All three families used similar given names and lived very near each other while living in Montgomery Co. GA and some went to Lumber City or McVille in Telfair Co. GA and some later went to Dale Co. AL or environs. Hope this helps you.
