Donald (shepherd)2 MacLennan (Alexander1) was born 1789 in Kincardine, Ross-shire, Scotland, and died 01 April 1870 in Huron Twp, Bruce Cty, Ontario, Canada. married Sarah Matheson Abt. 1820.

Notes for Donald (shepherd) MacLennan:

There two other MacLennan relatives, Duncan and Roderick, who came to Canada at the same time with Donald on August 4, 1851. They arrived in Quebec and then settled in Huron Twp., Bruce Co. in 1852 as farmers. Duncan's family is listed as: Duncan B. 1803 from Tolsta Chaolais, Lewis, son of John MacLennan and Catherine McNeil m. February 28, 1834, Uig, Anne MacLeod b. 1809 from Vuia, Lewis, daughter of John MacLeod.

Donald's brother, Finlay (piper) MacLennan moved from Lochalsh, R/C, Scotland in September 1849 with his family.Children-Donald, John, Alexander, Christena.

Children of Donald MacLennan and Sarah Matheson are:

i. Isabella3 McLennan, born 1823 in Stornaway, Isle of Lewis, Scotland; died 23 October 1881 in Bruce County, Ontario, Canada

ii. Mary McLennan, born 15 June 1827 in Stornaway, Isle of Lewis, Scotland; died 1926 in Bruce County, Ontario, Canada

iii. Alexander J. McLennan, born 1827 in Stornaway, Isle of Lewis, Scotland; died 24 October 1887 in Duluth, Minnesota.

iv. Christena McLennan, born 12 November 1829 in Stornaway, Isle of Lewis, Scotland; died 25 August 1914 in Duluth, Minnesota.

v. John McLennan, born 1834 in Stornaway, Isle of Lewis, Scotland; died 24 April 1886, Canada.

vi. William Lillingston McLennan, born 12 July 1836 in Scotland; died 18 March 1888 in Duluth, Minnesota.

vii. Margaret (Peggy) McLennan, born 1838 in Stornaway, Isle of Lewis, Scotland; died 08 May 1863 in Bruce County, Ontario, Canada.

viii. Murdoch McLennan, born 27 March 1841 in Stornaway, Isle of Lewis, Scotland; died 27 October 1912 in Bruce County, Ontario, Canada.

I am looking for any connection or information anyone might have on this family. Several memebers moved to Duluth, MN in the early 1880's. Have been unable to find information on parents and siblings of Donald or Sarah.
