Does anyone have information on my g, g, g grandparents, Allan McLennan and Margaret McIver or Campbell and their ancestors? From Australian immigration records I have the following information- Ship - 'Herald' arriving in Sydney,22 August,1856 Allen McLennan /44 years (born c.1812 /Farm Lab /Native Country Contin, Rosshire /Parents- Rory and Catherine-both dead /Presbyterian /A nephew Roddy McLennan already in New England area of New South Wales Margaret McLennan /wife /42 years (born c.1814) /from Contin, Rosshire/ Parents -Mordy McIver or Campbell and Janet McIver or Campbell- both dead Ann McLennan -34 years (born c.1822)/domestic servant /from Contin, Rosshire /states as above for parents Roderick McLennan- 19 years (born c.1837) /Farm Lab. /from Ferntosh, Rosshire /Parents - Allan and Margaret McLennan Murdo McLennan -16 years (born c.1839)/Farm Lab. /From Kilmarnock, Rosshire /Parents - Allen and Margaret McLennan Catherine McLennan -14 years (born c.1841) /girl servant /from Kilmarnock, Rosshire (death cert. says Inverness)/Parents - Allen and Margaret McLennan Mary McLennan -9 years(born c.1847)/from Kilmarnock, Rosshire /Parents-Allen and Margaret McLennan. Also on the 'Herald' was Janet(Jessie)McLennan born C.1834 in ?Contin and her husband Alexander McKay born 1834 in Lochcarron, both aged 22 years. His occupation is listed as plumber. Parents were Lachlan MacKay and Catherine McRae. Alexander and Janet were were married 30 April,1856. Alexander had a cousin Alexander Bain already in Sydney and Janet had an Aunt Mary McLennan living in the New England area. Vicki Evans Notify Administrator about this message?
