Ancestry lists him-- AR 1910 Census--as Zackanok J..age 40. Of course that was done by whoever transcribed the Census records.
Look at 1880 Census--Independence Co., AR and you will find a W W McClendon 25 as head but with Mother H.M. and siblings living in home. One sibling is listed as Z.J. age 22.
Also in 1910 is Martha McClendon 72 with son George D and niece Clara Tramell 15.
I have contacted person in Independence Co that might have info. Will report what I find
