There were two Sarah McLendons in Pike County. The one in my family was Sarah Julien McLendon, born 1829 in Pike County, Alabama and who married James A. Tompkins in 1848. They had 8 children: Mary A.R., Amanda, Samuel Buck, William M., Josephine, Eleasor, William Alexander, and Judson D. I have compiled a lot of information on this Sarah if you decide she is the one you need. Would be glad to share.
