The first time the brothers are documented is a deed and a will around 1670 or 80's. It is believed that they came as indentured servants. They were farmers and later listed as plantation owners. They move from the Isle of Wite Virginia to NC Bertie County. By the end of their lives they owned somewhere in the neighorhood of 5000 acres. By 1820 most of Abraham's side of the family is moved to Tennessee. Most of my family comes from around Lavinia and Jackson Tenn. One member of Abraham's side is John Christmas McLemore who was Surveyor General of Western Military District of Tenn by the age of 21. McLemoresville and Christmasville are named after him. He was also on of the cofounders of Memphis Tn. He was related to Andrew Jackson by marriage to one of his wife's relatives. He was also a close friend. He is a very interesting relation. He died broke in a shake along the Mississippi Rr. in Memphis.
Peace and joy,
Pastor E.
