I believe your line of McLemores could also be mine.ggggfather was James Carey Whitaker and he was married to Sarah Pullen Bradford. My McLemores were listed in Wayne Co.,TN but Flatwoods (our community) was changed to be in Perry Co., Linden, Tn. Since sisters and brothers married in the same families as their siblings.
We came from Hallifax Co. My ggggfather's died in Halifax, N.C., and his wie married a Whitaker and brought her two young boys with her. They were McLemores and the Whitakers and McLemores were alway mentioned together. Some of the McLemores married Chapels, Whitakers, and then some of them married McLemores. If you would like more of this kind of info if we are from the same lineage, email me and we can exchange knowledge. I do not have any Whiakers except my people, but we were mostly ministers, and Whitakers Chapel, was named for them. You might get some of your information from the genealogy of Bourchiers,
Plantagenet, Bradfords, Chapels or some other listings mentioned under their families.
