Melba,
Myself and many others who have been researching this line have concluded that the Susan H. McLemore in Wilson's will is the Susan H. McLemore who married Thomas G. Sessions in Chambers County on June 6, 1850, by John McNight JP.
Her abt. birtday I listed was based on her age of "23" in the 1850 Chambers County Census. She is also living nearby a number of her siblings in that census also. I also have their 1860 census record. But I had lost track of her after that.
I would be interested in getting more information on her family (group sheet/pedigree chart) for a McLemore family history book I have been working on for a number of years.
Unfortunatly, I have not been able to prove who Wilson's parents are yet. I beleive that he is the son of James MacLemore III and Elizabeth Walker of Granville North Carolina, who later moved to Jones County, Georgia where he died in 1815.
In his will his son "William" is listed twice. Myself and other believe it was a mistake, and the seond listing should have been Wilson. Also, Wilson, and his fathers and brothers all settled near each other in neighboring counties in central Georgia following their move to the state in about 1803.As an adult Wilson lived in Jones, Wilkinson, and Newton counties. His father, and brothers John, William, James also lived in Jones County, and neighboring Hancock and Jasper counties.
Also, Wilson named his oldest daughter after his mother Elizabeth, and years later he also moved to Chambers County Alabama, where his brother'sson Charles McLemore was living, and where they both entered into the milling business.
But I am still interested in finding an actual record that shows Wilson is his son. Unfortunatly, back then children's names were not listed on census records, and with the mistake with his name in father's will, I haven't been able to find anything yet. Did find his headstone a few months back in Chambers County. But all it has is his name on it.
Well, let your friend know I am interested in her line.
Thanks,
David
