“M.L. McLemore, 76, Route 4, Madisonville, [Monroe Co. TN] died at 7 a.m. Saturday. Survivors: wife, Mrs. Rachel McLemore; daughters, Miss Reba McLemore, Mrs. O’Neal Anthony, Mrs. Leonard Spurling, all of Madisonville; sons, Elbert and Bud of Maryville, Lester of Mentor, Lum of Alcoa, John of Erie and Delis McLemore of Madisonville; 31 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Dude Strickland of Madisonville; Mrs. Ed Hawkins of Tellico Plains; Mrs. Zeke Samples of Maryville; Mrs. Ive Weaver of Illinois; brothers, Columbus and Alis, both of Maryville, Odd and Berry McLemore, both of Madisonville. Funeral held Sunday at 2p.m. at Hopewell Springs Baptist Church. Burial in church cemetery.”
