Walter:
You seem to have done quite a bit of research beyond the McLemore line here, as if the McLemores are collaterals or related families to your principle interests (Doyles or Hudspeths/Hedspeths?).THat is, of course, all right, as such collateral research can sometimes yield results for both families, but it is often not done simply because it is time consuming and not entirely on point. But it certainly is helpful when those studying other lines pbulicize links or connections they find with your own.
As to the wealth of info you have listed on these other families in your McLemore Board posting, I have not done any research into any of it, for the above-stated reasons, and so have little to say about it by way of comment.I am not of Ephraim's line (I am of John's line back in Virginia), and so have little interest as a general McLemore researcher in tracing the ancestry of the wives of other-line McLemores, though I concede it is very helpful to those of that line to have such information posted. And my interest in who the McLemore daughters marry is for purposes of tidying up a line that I do not intend to follow, but which others might wish to, or can connect to, and so I like to list the husband, and rarely their children, but usually no further, except in my own line.
But again, sometimes such research can broaden the understanding one has of the connections between families. Often in the eighteenth and early ninteenth centuries, families not only were neighbors, and intermarried, but they frequently migrated together, so that families that were related by marriage and were neighbors in one place are frequently found to be neighbors again when one is traced to a new location, where the other(s) are likewise found.
So keep up your research, and email me at [email protected] whenever you have any more such interesting tidbits to share, and especially if you can tie Margery McLemore in marriage to John Doyle (Jr.).
Jim McLemore
