You have posed a question that has been around for a long time, though perhaps not many have lost sleep over it. And curiously, you have also proposed a possible answer - there are other possibilities as well, but I like yours. As you seem to have information on this John Doyle and his wife Margery, maybe you might have more info on their family. If you could get back to me on the names and other info on their children, and possibly grandchildren, I could review those to see if any match up with other names in the Macklemore (McLemore) family, which might be a good indicator of whether or not you have hit the mark.
