I am searching for the parents of Richard S. McLemore or McLamore. The information from an 1870 Winn Parish, LA census shows Richard McLamore, age 40, Farmer, born in VA. His wife is Mary (maiden name Davidson), age 35, born in MS. Children are as follows:
Samantha Frances, 16, born in MS
Mary E., 14, born in MS
William T., 11, born in MS
Hughy S., 9, born in LA
Elizabeth, 6, born in LA
Lilian L., 4, born in LA
George W., 1, born in LA
His wife, Mary Davidson, daughter of Hugh and Samantha Glass Davidson, was born in Monroe County, MS.
Also, a Richard S. McLemore served for the 27th Louisian Infantry as a private. The information I have received shows that he was also known as McLamore. He was captured in Vicksburg, MS, paroled, and reported for exchange in Shreveport, LA on April 1, 1864.
