My great-great grandmother, Martha McLellan of Hancock County, Georgia, married James H. Veal in Hancock County on Ja0 Cnuary 19th, 1837. The 1850 census identifies her mother, Clarissa McLellan, age 77, a slave owning farmer and living adjacent to another daughter married to Miles Underwood (born approx 1773)as born in North Carolina. The history of area indicates it was inhabited early on by Scots Presbyterians. Could anyone share anything with me about this brance of the McLellans.
