These McLean, McClean ect. are something else to get straight. We are suppose to be related to Lord Fitz Hugh McLean, ? correct spelling. He was knighted over the clan wars. The McDouglas and the Mc Leans also were at war. Do you know when your family came over? I am trying to connect 6 or 7 brothers that came in the mid 1700s. I know the names of some. I do know the history of the one from my line but not much about the other brothers. He became angry at his brothers and added the C. He was a distiller. They were in the Alg. Mts. One was suppose to be a steam boat captian on the Ohio river carring mail.
I know that there was a Fred McLean that lived in the Dakotas that became a famous film designer in CA.He is connected but not sure how just yet. I have been trying to connect with the man who told me about him but have not been able to meet. He has pictures ect. judy
