I am looking for information on JOHN McLEAN. He is the son of John McLean and Nancy Campbell, who was the daughter of Colin Campbell of Tenn.
John was probably born about 1820 in Christian County, KY. I believe him to be a teenager when his mother died about 1835-40. According to family sources, John did not like his step-mother (Catherine McGinnis)so he left home. This was a large family of 9 children. According to family source, John was heard of in St Louis, Mo. at one time. (He had an uncle Henry McLean who lived near there)After that he was never hear of. There are number of John McLean's but I have not determined which fits my John.
I have information on John's brothers and sisters, but none on him.
Please help, if you can, I would like to complete my McLEAN history.
