Hi, I just found this site and am most interested!
Our Oral family history states that there were 3 McLawhorn brothers that arrived in North Carolina. Two changed their names to Lawhorn / Lawhon. Do you know anything about this?
My grandmother was Lillie Lawhon and I've posted notices under the Lawhon/Lawhorn site on genforum. I go back to Lewis Lawhon and his brother Leonard Weston Lawhon of Moore County, NC, their parents were Joel Lawhon and Catherine Furr.
Katherine Furr was age 63 in the 1850 Census so she was born c. 1787. They may have been from Johnson County, NC.
I have penciled notes in my workbook that Joel's father was William Lawhorn and his father was John Lawhorn..think they were in Johnson County NC in 1754. Is this William the one that fought in the Revolutionary War?
Can you help me with this line?
Thanks
Fran
