Thomas P. McLaughlin Sr. Funeral services for Thomas P. McLaughlin Sr., 77, of Apple River, Ill., will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Streamwood, Ill. Officiating will be Fr. Benedyk Pazdan. Cremation rites were accorded. Born Sept. 28, 1930, in Chicago, to William and Susan (nee Calzeretta) McLaughlin, he passed away Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007, at the Lena Living Center. He enlisted in the Air Force after graduating from high school. He then married Margaret Kochalka on May 26, 1956. Thomas was very passionate about spending time with his family, golfing, and hunting. He touched many people with his giving nature. He is survived by his wife; three sons, Thomas of Downers Grove, Ill., Timothy (Pam) of Winfield, Ill. and Trevor (Roni) of Bartlett, Ill.; one daughter, Tammy (Jeff) of Bartlett; eight grandchildren, Sarah, Chase, Tommy, Ryan, Whitney, Courtney, Jonathan and Katelyn; one brother, Edward (Irene); and one sister, Sharon (Ray) White. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William and Joseph; and one sister, Sue. A memorial has been established in his name.
