This family is found on Lee Co., Iowa Census with my Grandfather in 1895 and then they are found in continuing censuses with their children, 1900-1930 in Hampton then Moline Twp, Rock Island Co., IL.
I am looking for descendants of this Marks family because my Gr William Lawrence Marks would be one of Charles's younger brothers.
William J. Marks b.~1849 & Laura Lucinda (Taylor) Marks b.~1850.They were married Oct 25,1869, Van Buren Co., IA.
Their children were Charles b. ~1870, Anna b.~1872, Leonard b.~1875, Lena b.~1875, Lawrence b.1881, Jesse/James b.~1883, and Harvey ? b. Unknown.
Most children of William and Laura Marks were born in Van Buren Co., IA. By 1895 Laura was left a widow found living in Ft. Madison, Lee Co., IA with some of her children and Anna Marks that is older, possibly an aunt, previous census has Anna with Henry Marks (uncle?).
