Nancy, My Dugald McLarty was born about 1828-30 possibly on the Island of Jura (several of his brothers and sisters show up on the IGI for Jura but not Dugald. His parents were Archibald McLarty and Catherine Campbell. I have them there in th 1841 census when Archibald was a ferryman. Then the whole family disappears until Dugald shows up in Greenock where he marries Mary Munn. I have yet to find anything on the other family members I wonder if they could have immigrated. The family my have been from Islay or Colonsay before Jura. Keep your eyes open and if you come across anything, please let me know. Helen
