McLarney Family Genealogy Forum

My father (John Declan McLarney) is from Navan in Ireland. He moved to the UK in 1969 with his mother (Eileen McLarney) sister (Elizabeth Ann McLarney) and has lived here ever since. My grandfather (William Peter McLarney) and great grandfather (John McLarney) were both born and lived in Navan for most of their lives. My Grandfather moved to New York in the 1920's and lived with his two aunts in the Bronx area. He was sponsored by his aunts (McLarneys who married in the States) and therefore did not pass through Ellis Island. He worked there for 20 years (New York Transit Authority) and returned to Navan and married Eileen Fitzpatrick, also from Navan. They owned a local cafe known as 'the Seven Dwarfs'. The cafe remained open after he died in 1961 but closed when my grandmother decided to move to England in 1969.
If you are building your McLarney family tree we hope this info can help, please contact me with any additional info you may have that would help us build our tree.
We have only been able to trace our family tree back to my great grandfather in Navan but would be delighted to hear from anyone who may be related but has, like us, lost touch with our ancestry.
We look forward to hearing from you.
