Hi Doug: Thanks for the response. I've managed to trace my MCLAREN line to the Carnlia/Dalveich area of Balquhdder. At this point my line of MCLARENS goes like this: Donald MCLAREN and Janet FERGUSSONE, married June 1, 1729 in Balquhidder (not sure where exactly). They had 4 children that I know of. Their son Duncan was born Nov 27, 1748 in Balquhidder and married Janet Ferguson in 1773. They had 8 children. A son Donald was born Feb 7, 1790 in Balquhidder and married Christian Campbell. Their children (11 of them) were born in the Loch Earn area: Archibald (my wife’s 2x great-grandfather) was born Feb 1, 1824 in Carnlia. Archibald lived in the Blackford, Perthshire area. He married Margaret HENDERSON in 1854 and they had 8 children. Archibald and Margaret had a son also Archibald born 1858 in Blackford, Perthshire. This Archibald married Ann MCROBBIE MORRISSON. They had nine children. Their son John (my wife’s grandfather) came to Canada. And on it goes to the present.
