Hi Beverly and Bernard
By luck I stumbled across your correspondence re: the McLaren family. My family is from the Duncan McArthur (circa 1804)family. He married Helen (listed on marriage cert. as "Hellen MacLaren) on Dec. 7, 1828 in Kenmore Parish and she was listed as being from the "Parish of Killin". No other information was listed on the record such as parents, although the individual record may contain more information.
We have birth records for all of the children of Duncan and Helen, all born in Kenmore, Perth, Scotland. These are:
Donald b. Mar. 10, 1830
John b. Nov. 23, 1832
Hugh b. Feb. 3, 1835
Duncan b. May 20, 1837
Christian b. Jul 28, 1839
Elisabeth b. Sept. 29, 1841 m. into the Crerar family
who also settled in Osgoode Twp, Ont.
Catharine b. Jul 28, 1844
Alexander b. Aug. 10, 1846 (our direct ancestor)
Archibald b. Aug. 10, 1848
Neil b. Sept. 17, 1851
