His father was Donald McLaren (b. abt. 1782) who married Mary McArthur (b. abt. 1790). I have not been able to trace this family back farther on this side. I believe the McLaren family married into the Drummond and Baxter family. I have a Catherine McLaren (b. 1797) whose parents were Hugh McLaren who's wife is Janet. She married James Drummond. They immigrated to Ontario in 1831. There was also a Janet McLaren (b. 1791) who's father is Hugh McLaren. She married James Baxter and they immigrated in 1841 to Ontario. All these families came from the Kenmore and Loch Tay area. Could there be connections to your McArthur family? Notify Administrator about this message?
