Mike...This is Donna, Berah's co-conspiritor in our family line. Please tell me that you can send copies of these pictures to us. I am VERY interested in your William McLaren (McClaren)family. We have a very elusive William W. McClaren b abt 1859 LA who married our g-grandmother, Frances Delilah Cowart on 7/24/1879 in Navarro Co. TX (Corsicana area). They are in the 1880 census as 19 & 20 yrs old listed as Bill McClaren/Fannie Mcclaren. Bill's mother's birthplace is La/Father's Scot.
According to family oral history, our Bill was on the way to town in a wagon in 1880 and 'disappeared' never to be seen again, leaving his pregnant wife to wonder what happened to him. I always wondered if Bill did get "killed by Indians" or maybe just kept on going?? Can't find out anything about Fannie's family either.
Please contact Donna at dcjdbh@webtv.net. This family of McLaren's is connected, I know, with dates and Navarro Co. as a connector. Thank you
