Hi Becky,

Hee...just spotted your posting. All I know about the McLaren side is:

Alexander McLaren married to Isabella Brunton on 6/6/1848 at St. Cuthberts, Edinburgh, Scotland. There son James (Chalmers?) McLaren (born 20/10/1858 in Milton, Glasgow) emmigrated to New Zealand. He married Sarah Jane Rowney on 30/12/1881 at Maniototo, Otago, New Zealand.
