McLaney Family Reunion plans

I have maintained a website for several years now called the Anderson McLaney Family History site which, as of today has 24583 individuals. I average 40-50 hits a day and, as you may imagine, I am found by distant family members all the time. I have found the one thing everyone seems to have in common is an interest in putting together a family reunion for our intimate little family group. I'm game. I am shooting for next summer(2002) and would like to be contacted by anyone who may be interested in attending. Still in the planning stages, I'm thinking about mid to late June, probably in Tryon, NC....in Polk county in a very scenic portion of the Western North Carolina mountains. You can e-mail me at kandiandi@mindspring.com or snail mail me at 1471 Ken Miller Road, Rutherfordton, NC 28139-6813. This McLaney line is from James McLaney who married Margaret Mariah Melton as his first wife. The Melton descendants have also expressed an interest in a reunion so I may look to put both halves of the house together for a second moment in history. Should be fun. The park is great, the Biltmore Estate is right down the road, a portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway runs nearby....plenty to do and see in the area. This is in addition to have the chance to swap family stories, old documents, photos...what have you.
