My family has been hitting a wall when we go to find my Grandfather's Fathers Father. His name was Samuel (Saul) M. (Marcus) McLane. What we know is that he was born March 3, 1832 near Fredericksburg, Kentucky. He some how ended up in Oregon, possibly with the Berry wagon train, but we have no documents.

We have not found a Fredericksburg, Kentucky, so that is a piece of information that would be good to have if anyone knows where it was and what happened to it and any records.

He married Josephine Amanda Berry (b. May 15, 1846 in Gentry County , Missouri). She did travel with the Berry wagon train. They were married Dec. 10, 1865.

I also have taken the Family Tree DNA tests, with the hope that I will find another male from my great-grandfathers family.

About me, I'm a retired Forest Service (Fire management officer) living in Northern (almost Oregon) California.
