I have just started my research on my family tree. Just today i have gone back 10 generations. About all i have found are dob's, and dod's. I know that i had a g-grandfather that was captured in the civil war. I don't know about his occupation or anything else about him right now except that his name was Isham Mcclam and came from the Daniel Mcclam (1730) line. If i find any information that can help you i will.
